Since today is the last day of:
finally!
Comrades white chikan and uber colourful printed fabric will help in this task.
First dealt with the neckline:
flaredish
the sleeves came in next:
yup, both have different coloured patterns on them.
in the end, added a thin belt to it.

Day 13
Dismantled a hooded fullsleeved jacket today, have some thoughts abt using the hood and the sleeves for other sewing projects. But for the time being, i made a patrakaarish vest from the body of the jacket.
Insted of buttons i opted for strings.
Made pleats on the back to add some structure
Also made a cover for my machine, sewed a pocket to it(yes, that was once a skirt :D)

On an aside
I have decided to reduce the use of 'chemicals' on my skin to the bare minimum, hence no ready made cleanser, toner moisturiser. But fear not, have tried and tested simple concoctions on my skin since last month and they have dramatically reduced my skin issues.yaaaay!
So this is going to be sort of my new year resolution, more like a resolution that i plan to keep forever*
For cleansing - milk + honey + lemon juice
For toning and moisturising - Glycerin + rose water (works like magic, even during winters it keeps my skin from drying for one whole day *gasps*)
*Conditions apply - the meaning for the word might change according to mood swings and state of laziness.
BTW i toon in this blog of mine - http://gayatri-says.blogspot.com and mostly here http://www.gingerchai.com/2010/04/14/and-so-on-by-gayatri/

Day 10
Bandhani! I adore it. Its just that i couldnt find a casual bandhani top, all i could see at stores were tunics and some more tunics.
So i bought some material and made me an uber comfy top with faux half jacket style, elastic to add waist, and belt at the back for extra shape to the top.
a closer look at the neckline detail :
It goes well with my skinny jeans.

Day 8
So I had this khadi kurta which was all nice and comfortable BUT had a collar *shrieks*, but i couldnt just cut and throw the collar away coz it was filled with very nice embroidery -
awwwwww
Hence i just removed the collar, cut it into equal halves, inverted and placed them on the neckline like this -
and tucked it in, sewed it on the inner side like this -
Viola!

Day 7
While eating a chocolate cake today, my train of thought was as follows:
yummm cake >> silky chocolaty icing >> silk, brown >> scarf! oh no :(
Once upon a time i saw a brown abstract printed silk scarf, which i knew was of no use to me, but i still went ahead and bought it :X and i lived guiltily ever after.
So i thought, why not just cut-sew it on an equally useless brown top.

after:
I pronounce thee not guilty :D

Day 6
Time to pick up pace. hehe i think kavisto 15 will take more than a month to get completed.
Mummy asked me to paint this 'once black' pot. Long ago, i had glued tiny mirrors on it, the scars still remain.
Theme inspiration: warli art. Warli tribes usually depict themselves hunting, cutting wood, etc, etc in their paintings.
Finished it in a jiffy. Presenting... the warlied pot accompanied by bamboo plant
Lets take a closer look. There was just one mirror piece remaining, so it let it be and painted around it. Here is a dude using it, while he is busy whistling
..at the lady posing and being photographed
..while two kids are playing
..and a filmi scene happening
..plz dont stop the music
..choreographed dancing eh
... oops one guy tripped while he was busy oogling at the photographed lady

Day 4
Made chinese hair stick today.
used - old paintbrush - using its stick part, some sheer fabric and fevicol.
twisted the fabric to form a rose
then applied some fevicol over the tip of the stick, placed the rose on it, twisted and wound the tail part of the rose around the stick, glued it along the way.
Done!
:D french knot using the stick (messy one though)
