Clay..finally!

Yippe! I have moved on to clay now. Well it took a while to get the composition of the dough right, but all is well :P Designed and made a paper weight, might even make and sell such stuff in distant future. who knows?

Sing, buddy sing

I tried making the plasticine sing, i think i should move on to clay now.

Plasticine is good, but its always very 'soft', hence more chances of it getting disfigured even due to a gentle touch.

Another rose pin, made with fabric this time. Am officially sick of roses now :D

The Thinking man with roses

I think I will now move on to working with proper clay. Plasticine is good for practising though. I made a slightly abstract thinking man with it. This man is a little less worried than David's thinking man :D

I got a new stock of ribbons recently, mostly for making flowers. I made a few like this one ..

and attached them to hair pins. Now I have new rosy accessories. haah!

Something New...

...For me atleast.I was collecting my art supplies at a store when my eyes wandered towards the section where clay cakes were kept. Well it isnt clay actually, but its used for making fun models (for and by kids more than 5 yrs old.khi khi). So I promptly wend ahead and bought one.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on it :D Since it's the first time that I am attempting .... hmmm... sculpting? plz excuse the raw shapes.

Here is how he was made:

I am grinning from ear to ear :D

This and that

Since my sewing machine isn't going to join me for a couple of months (ho humm) and since i am yet to find a good hobby supplies store, kavisto is biting the dust. But hey, why not post abt some other things, like nature :P

I clicked these about a month ago and completely forgot abt them.

Oh, we also spotted snake skin. Love how the scales look up close. Thankfully the snake wasn't around when we took the pic of it's.. err leftover.

I passed by Channapatna (its famous for wooden toys and articrafts) so bought this cute keychain from there. Can't wait to visit that place again :P

These are from Mysore, now that's one place which really admires its elephants

p.s. Thank you for your congratulatory comments :)

Awards time!

Yaaay! Chandana , being her usual sweet self, has passed on an award to me :) Thanks a ton!

So the thing is i have to list 7 things about myself. here I go

- My hair changes its state (cury /wavy/ long waves/short waves/ semi straight) according to even minute changes in the weather. It can be quite irritating, but hey! I get different styles everytime without any effort.

- I can skate quite well

- I can't identify different models of cars (neither do i care abt it):P the 'aha' moment comes only when i read its name at the back :D

- I can make a mean chocolate cake

- I oh so want to be a published cartoonist...right now :D

- I think i am a bit materialistic :P

- I can speak 5 languages, but read only 3 :D

ok, Since it's Tanvi's birthday today (and the fact that she is quite stylish) am going to pass the award to her!

This was fun :D

Jekyll & Hyde bag

Ha! I like this name. This bag had some sequins all over it which i promptly removed. The front of the bag:

The back is slightly different:

Hence, i decided to bring out the jekyll and hyde personality of this bag out a little more.

Using a couple of sequins and beads

The bag was bit too long, so i folded the handle at two places on each side. Then added these sequins on the front:

Next was the back. made a string of red beads and twisted it. Sewed it into place. Then added some flower shaped beads.

Mummy and me posing with the two 'personalities' :D

Painted a bangle

I found this somewhere at the back of mummy's cupboard. The base metal is silver with some (now worn) gold coating.

I painted it.

Hope the colour stays true.

Major Kundan and Meena love

There was a phase when i loved silver jewellery, then came the 'locket with black thread' phase and now i am officially drunk on meenakari and kundan. Here is what i have, over the months, managed to collect after visiting many shops and exhibitions :D

Look at the minute designs. Pure artwork!

Gold rush

I thought making a rubber band would be simple. IT. IS. Not. Maybe the fault lay with the golden ribbon/lace. But here is how i made it.

Ingredients

Struggled with the elastic a bit. Lost quite a few calories i must say. After some huff and puff, this was the result:

OK, so it was worth the effort. Still further Project Rubberbands: Indefinately postponed :P

Notice the dragonfly pendant :

And my spectacles :D The moment i saw the red colour and the dragonfly, i knew i just had to get it:
